LD Heads to the 2014 Egyptian Event!
This press release appears on ArabianHorseGlobal.com, where you can view the 2014 Egyptian Event LIVE! Watch for Farah Magidaa LDA Wednesday, June 4 in the 1 pm session, Class 23, and Hana Magidaa LDA Thursday, June 5 in the 1pm session, Class 33!
After 12 years of breeding fine, straight Egyptian Arabian horses, Dan and Louise DeRusseau have developed a reputation that is the envy of breeders with far more years in the industry. As is often the case, considerable credit must be given to their good choices of great broodmares. They own the only two producing daughters of the magnificent Bint Bint Magidaa, heiress to the Bint Magidaa legacy. Many people talk endlessly about Magidaa bloodlines and rightfully so. Few mares have had the influence of Bint Magidaa. The dam of National Champion Ruminaja Ali and other major sires in breeding programs from the Middle East to South America, she is also half-sister to the great sire, Nabiel+/. Bint Bint Magidaa, sister to Ruminaja Ali and Alidaar, is the dam of Illa Magidaa LDA (Thee Desperado) and her sister, Il Bint Magidaa, LD Arabians’ foundation mares.
“They are definitely the ladies that gave us our start,” acknowledges Louise. “Il Bint Magidaa’s first foal was Magidaat Al Gamal LDA (Mishaal HP), dam of Gameelah LDA (Thee Desperado) 2011 Gold Champion (Junior Champion Filly) at the Egyptian Event. Magidaat’s full sister, Amal Magidaa LDA, was Champion Ext Spec Straight Egyptian Three-Year-Old at the 2010 Egyptian Event and has been High Score in Dressage at the Dallas Dressage Club. The third full sister, Farah Magidaa LDA (Mishaal HP), is available through the Arabians Ltd. Portfolio offering at this year’s Egyptian Event.”
Illa Magidaa LDA’s production record has been every bit as exceptional as her sister’s. Four of her offspring, all full siblings sired by Mishaal HP, have excellent show records at the Egyptian Event. In 2008 Kamar Magidaa LDA was EBC Top Ten. In 2010 Noor Magidaa LDA was Champion Straight Egyptian Futurity Two-Year-Old. Siraj Ibn Mishaal LDA was Top Ten three times in 2012 and 2013, and Karimah Magidaa LDA was Champion in the Straight Egyptian Futurity Two-Year-Old Filly Kalkata. Noor Magidaa LDA, Karimah Magidaa LDA, Gameelah LDA and Al Aneed LDA (Alixir x Illi Magidaa LDA) now belong to Nayla Hayek, Hanaya Arabian Stud, in Switzerland. Al Aneed LDA has been shown in Europe. His first foals are arriving there now.
“We are sending our best to the 2014 Egyptian Event,” says Louise. “Hana Magidaa LDA, full sister to all of Illa Magidaa’s superstar children, will be making her debut in the Yearling Filly Futurity on Thursday. She is also in the Arabians Ltd. Portfolio. It’s bittersweet for us. She is the best of this cross so far and it’s hard to let her go. We also have two, young Mishaal HP stallions available. Nasheet LDA is Farah Magidaa LDA’s five-year-old brother. He scored a 76 as a Sport Horse In-Hand and is currently in saddle training at Braden Training Center. With Mishaal HP gone, these horses are now among the rarest and best anywhere. You can’t find them now.”
LD Arabians is located on 23 lovely acres about fifteen minutes east of the Austin, Texas airport. It’s a beautiful part of Texas with green pasture and large shade trees. Louise personally handles the foaling duties, and keeps the farm management under control. “I like being hands-on,” Louise says. “I handle all the foals daily. Right now I’m busy getting mares in foal. I love these horses and there’s no place in the world I would rather be.”
We have exported our horses to Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Egypt, and of course the United States. Contact us for more information!
